Eston Park School Challenge

What is it all about?

School Council believed that whilst part of the school’s reward system worked well part of it did not. With this in mind they decided to create THE ESTON PARK CHALLENGE.  It is a manageable system that will strengthen Tutor Group identity and reward students for getting involved, behaving well and trying their best.

How will this work?

Some existing rewards such as attendance draws, Governors’ Awards, House and Subject Celebration Evenings, letters home and subject reward schemes will continue to operate but they are not part of the THE ESTON PARK CHALLENGE.

Housepoints are not part of THE ESTON PARK CHALLENGE but staff may still use them in recognition of students doing well.

With THE ESTON PARK CHALLENGE each person is trying to earn points for him or herself, and their Tutor Group. This is because THE ESTON PARK CHALLENGE  will be a competition  between Tutor Groups.

THE CHALLENGE will work by students being awarded points for EPPIS effort and behaviour grades : The grades have the following values  each C-1point  each B-2points  and each A-4points

Points will also be awarded termly for attendance  >92% -1 point  >  95%  -2points    100% -4points
Punctuality is important too so if you have < 3 lates in a term- 1point. No lates in a term – 4 points.

From now for regular participation in an extra- curricular sport-  4 points will be awarded for each sport involved in.

Any interform activities will have points awarded  -1st  20 points, 2nd – 15 points  3rd -10 points  4th -8 points,  5th  -6 points  6th -5 points  7th -3 points,  8th – 2points  and 9th- 1 point.

We know that Tutor Groups have different numbers of people in them so only the scores of top 20 performers in each Tutor Group will count.

THE First ESTON PARK CHALLENGE will be won  by May 28th. The winning Tutor Groups will get a day trip to Flamingo Land and for the top performers certificates will be provided that could be included in Records of Achievement.

It starts from now so get involved help your Tutor Group win THE ESTON PARK CHALLENGE!!
