Leadership Team Aims
Aims
The current Senior Management Team (SMT) is made up from the Head teacher (Jim Rogers), two Deputy Heads (John Douglass, Duncan Haig) and three Assistant Heads (David Whitfield, Sandra Grayson and Ian Temple). SMT meets every week and is responsible for daytoday decisionmaking.
The Senior Management Committee (SMC) consists of the SMT members and four other members of staff who each serve a twoyear term. SMC meets every month and takes a more strategic role in the management of the school. A significant number of the middle managers of the school have served on SMC, which has an important development role as well as widening the management base of the school.
The Leadership Team manages an excellent and thoroughly dedicated team of teaching and support staff. It is supported by a uniquely active and supportive Governing Body. SMT members have clearly defined roles for which they are accountable. Continuing initiatives and development are expected and SMT members work to targets which are agreed with Governors each year. Within their roles, SMT members work closely together to support each other in all areas, constantly striving to move the school towards excellence. The management and leadership process is dynamic and creative as we discuss, debate, share and develop ideas.
