Mathematics Department

The Maths Department is a close-knit, caring and enthusiastic team who have always been mutually supportive and committed to providing an atmosphere conducive to high-quality teaching and learning.

The department presently consists of nine specialist maths staff with a wealth of experience who teach in dedicated maths rooms. In addition, we have the use of our own computer suite..
All groups are set according to ability, which we are convinced is the best way to allow all pupils to maximise their potential. Pupils are assessed half termly and there are plenty of opportunities for pupils to change set if it is deemed to be in their best interest.

Key Stage 3

At KS3 we are very well resourced in terms of texts which are closely referenced to the NNS objectives. As already mentioned, we have permanent access to a maths computer suite and the use of ICT is now intrinsic to our teaching.
