22-04-2010London Visit 2010Trip to London London Visit – 13th & 14th April 2010
Tuesday 13th April We left Eston Park School at 6am to head to Pizza Hut in London for an “all you can eat” pizza lunch, which was excellent. The members of staff in the restaurant were excellent and they also commented on the pupil’s manners & behaviour. We then got back onto the coach and went to the BBC Television Centre, as we were early we stopped of at a park on the way. At the BBC Television Centre we went off in 3 groups for a tour, we visited the News Department, Studios and some of the pupils got the chance to win prizes by taking part in an Eston Park “Weakest Link” game, some became weather readers and also news readers. We also seen some celebrities – Jools Holland, Jeremy Paxman, Lisa Tarbuck also Dominic Littlewood. The guides were very informative and a good time was had by all. After a very long day we went to the Travelodge to have a well earned rest!! Wednesday 14th April Up for breakfast at 7am – Mr Goodwill & Mr Johns were up and about with water pistols at the ready for reluctant risers. Then we all went down for our breakfast together, again the staff commented on the children’s manners and behaviour. With bags loaded back onto the coach we set off on our travels again – first stop – Madame Tussards. Pupils rubbed shoulders with the stars and some staff and pupils were feeling very brave and visited the Scream Chamber, lots of them were not so brave on the way out! We were now on route to the River to Cruise down the Thames from Westminster to Greenwich where we took in the sights along the way, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Globe Theatre, London Eye. Last stop we walked to McDonalds for our evening meal before boarding the coach for the journey home. We arrived back at Eston Park School at 1.15am. I would like to thank all of the staff who attended (Mr Goodwill, Miss Huggins, Mr Johns, Ms Nash, Miss Thomson x 2) I couldn’t have done it without you! I was extremely proud of all of the children throughout the visit. Their behaviour and manners were second to none. Well Done to you all! Contacts: EPS All News Print Version |
