If you are too unwell to attend your lessons, you MUST telephone the Sixth Form as soon as possible to report you absence – 01642 447090
Why is attendance so important?
-
If you are going to succeed in the Sixth Form then your attendance needs to be excellent
-
If you miss a morning session, you have in effect missed anything from 2 - 5 hours and it is important to see it in this way. A lot of work will be covered during this time and it is often difficult to catch up
-
If you miss a lesson for any reason, you should collect the relevant work from subject staff at the first opportunity. You must do this prior to your next lesson and it is your responsibility
-
An appointment with a dentist or doctor during the morning is not a sufficient excuse for missing 3 whole hours
-
Driving lessons are not permitted during the school day
REMEMBER – If you qualify for EMA and you have a poor attendance record, your allowance WILL cease!
How will my attendance be monitored?
-
Your attendance will be monitored by your subject teachers, tutors and Head of Sixth Form. Your parents/carers will be made aware of the time you have missed
-
If you are absent or late for a lesson, then you must provide a note giving a satisfactory reason. This note must be presented in person to your form tutor. Your form tutor will provide you with an acceptance note that you can show to your subject teacher and for them to mark as authorised absence
-
Persistent unauthorised absence or lateness to lessons will result in your removal from the sixth form
-
Punctuality is essential in every part of your working life and this goes for the Sixth Form as well. You must be at lessons on time and correctly equipped
