Ripon House

Ripon is situated in North Yorkshire close to the A1M and is about 40 miles from Teesside. Place of interest, include the Cathedral, Fountains Abbey and a very famous valley!

Our aim is to create a caring environment in which young people can learn and enjoy themselves in an atmosphere of security and mutual consideration. Ripon House is located on the ground floor, occupying English teaching rooms and two Science labs. The social area is open every break and lunchtime; activities include pool, table tennis, cards, music, draughts, board games, television and video.

Ripon House is made up of nine forms, form teachers and House Officials from Year 10 and 11, nominated by Ripon staff.

Ripon House - Celebrate Success Prefect

Training Weekend Ripon form tutors have known for a long time that you are all wonderful young people, we have always had high expectations of you, but during the course of the Prefect Training weekend we were blown away by just how fantastic you are. On very few occasions have we seen such determination, such initiative and such amazing teamwork. The group of year 10 potential prefects dazzled us with their brilliance as they battled against high wires, leaps of faith, virtually insurmountable climbing walls, and, worst of all, canoeing instructors determined to get everyone wet. Everyone impressed us, however, there were a few superstars who stood out from the rest.

Claire Green was sensational; she was defiant of gravity on the climbing wall and was the only pupil to scale the hardest route to climb to the peak of the wall (not even Sam Skillcorn could beat her). Shannon Green overcame very real fears of heights to complete the ‘leap of faith’. Rachael Hughes, normally quiet and shy, came out of her shell and proved to us all that if she puts her mind to it she can achieve anything. Well done to all pupils who attended the training weekend, past and future prefects.

You were brilliant and proved that Ripon pupils are simply the best!

You're Hired!...

Your House Prefects have now been selected; they will be informed of their honour at forthcoming the Prefect Presentation Evening and be introduced to you shortly after.

The Eston Park Challenge...

CONGRATULATIONS to R1 who have outperformed other tutor groups in Ripon to win ‘The Eston Park Challenge’ this year. As promised by Mr Whitfield, the tutor group will have their hard work, effort and participation rewarded with a free trip to Flamingo Land on Thursday the 22nd July.
