A Typical Day in TSFE

A typical A level timetable.

If you decided to study four A levels in the sixth form then your timetable would be similar to this one. Depending upon which subjects you choose you may have double periods to enable you to carry out experiments or visit relevant organisations to help you with your
research.

Independent Study periods will appear on your timetable and are to be used to give you much needed time to complete assignments and research information.

Registration still plays an important part of your sixth form timetable as not only will it be used to support you with your studies but also with university applications, curriculum vitae’s and personal statements. As part of your studies you may be required to take part in teaching and coaching activities and your form period gives you the ideal opportunity to
access teachers, pupils and classrooms.

One afternoon a week will be set aside for enrichment. These are activities which are different from your studies to give you more opportunities to try new things. It will also be possible to access more qualifications on these afternoons if you wish.

A typical vocational timetable.

If you decided to study a vocational qualification like construction in the sixth form then your timetable would be similar to the one below. Most of your week will be spent on the construction site working on your chosen area e.g. plumbing. However, for two days a
week you will be in the sixth form centre studying more qualifications to equip yourself properly for the world of work.
